As a wedding photographer, you’d think I would have made hiring one for my own wedding a top priority. 

But five years ago, I made a decision I still don’t understand—I didn’t book a professional photographer for my special day!! (I KNOW RIGHT??) 

I am an introvert and the ceremony was very small- only the closest family, and I didn’t want to have a stranger there.

Now, I want to share my experience so that you don’t make the same mistake .📸

The Biggest Wedding Regret: No Professional Photographer

Like many couples, my partner and I were focused on planning an unforgettable wedding while staying within our budget. 

We thought, “We’ll have guests with cameras in their phones—surely, they’ll capture some moments.” And we just wanted to be present, right there, in the moment. 

Another mistake- we were sure that we would remember everything - after all, it’s such a huge life event-it stays in your memory forever.

Trust me, it doesn’t! 

The nerves take over and I don’t even remember what we said and if I even had anything to eat for the rest of the day 😁

But what we didn’t consider was that our friends and family were there to celebrate, not document our day like a professional wedding photographer would.

After the wedding, I quickly realized that while we had some lovely snapshots, we lacked the high-quality, storytelling images that bring the emotions of the day back to life.
